Hotet mot svensk ishockey – Del 2

I förra inlägget nämnde jag till största del om hur unga lovande killar ror över pölen så fort någon viftar med en dollarbunt, även om de är långt ifrån redo för det, och därmed går en osäker framtid till mötes.

Men NHL är inte det enda hotet vid horisonten.

De senaste åren har KHL roffat åt sig mer och mer av vår svenska ishockey. I ryssarnas fall handlar det väl kanske oftast inte om unga talan. För även om de gärna försöker knyta dessa till sig, så lockas ungtupparna fortfarande mer av spel i Nordamerika och ”världens bästa liga”.

KHL bossen Alexander Medvedev har med gas och oljepengar försökt att skapa en liga som ska kunna konkurrera ned NHL om just den titeln. Det har dock fastnat en hel del grus i det maskineriet av helat andra orsaker än det rent hockeymässiga. Ryssland har helt enkelt inte det som behövs. Visst, pengar finns det kanske gott om, men det är inte gemene man som har dom. Så gott som hela Rysslands finansiella tillgångar kontrolleras av en mycket liten kärna som styr och ställer som de vill.

Att medelryssen däremot hankar sig fram på det han kommer över av resterna från gräddan, gör att styrkan saknas för en rysk superliga i ishockey.

För vem ska gå och titta på matcherna?

Entrépriserna till matcher i Kontinental Hockey League är på en sådan nivå att de flesta ryssar får spara bra länge för att få ihop det till att kunna se en enda match. Publiksnittet i hela ligan ligger därför mycket lågt och man skulle i princip lika gärna kunna säga att vissa lag spelar inför tomma läktare, med tanke på deras totala publikkapacitet.

Som jag nämnt så är det ju inte direkt junisar som lockas av KHL och spel i Sibirien.

Istället har ryssarna fått koncentrera sig på att köpa de spelare som redan gjort sig ett namn och därmed redan gjort färdigt en stor del av sin aktiva hockeykarriär.

Det är spelare som lirat många år i NHL, Elitserien och SM-liiga. Men även här är KHL lite snett ute. Dessa grabbar ser sin chans att på bekvämt sätt spela till sig ett badkar med pengar genom att spela ett par säsonger i Ryssland. Visserligen i ett land med dålig standard på i princip allt och ofta med familjen kvar på hemmaplan, men det är det värt för att vara ekonomiskt oberoende efter hemkomsten.

Just detta faktum inverkar också på att KHL tappar i spelkvalitet. Dessa ”äldre” spelare har redan slitna kroppar som inte klarar samma påfrestningar som unga killar. De ger helt enkelt inte lika mycket  av rädsla för att skadas. För vilken nytta har dom av det där badkaret med pengar, om de inte kan ha glädje av slantarna på grund av att dom är hockeyinvalider.

Nu ska jag naturligtvis inte dra alla över en kam, men ser man till helheten så är det så det ligger till. KHL har mycket kompetens i sig, men den används för vårdslöst och ogenomtänkt.

Hur kan då denna skitliga vara ett hot mot svensk hockey?

Jo, så här är det.

Eftersom de yngre killarna simmar över Atlanten, och ryssarna köper allt rutinerat folk de kan komma över, så återstår det till slut bara medelmåttorna här på hemmaplan. Inte för att jag klankar ner på de spelare som är kvar, men man måste vara realist. De spelar ofta kvar i Elitserien i flera år,  just för att de inte är så bra att de kan ta klivet utomlands till bland annat  NHL.

Så istället för att kunna behålla våra juniorer och sedan locka hem våra ärrade, rutinerade proffs, dräneras svensk ishockey på kompetens. Inte för att den svenska serien i grunden är dålig, utan för att de andra ligorna bestämt sig för att roffa åt sig allt dom kommer över och detta helt utan ansvar. KHL behandlar sina spelare som sopor och råkar de gå mållösa ett par matcher, så får de sparken och kastats i rännstenen. Helt skoningslöst.

NHL i sin tur stjäl all talang genom löften om guld och gröna skogar, och sen dömer dom alla som inte lever upp till förväntningarna, till spel i skärselden och farmarlagen. Där håller spelkvaliteten inte på långa vägar samma klass som i ”världens bästa liga”. Spelet är brutalt och skoningslöst. Skadenivån ökar flera hundra procent och detta i ett läge då spelarna kastats mellan hopp och förtvivlan. Mellan NHL och AHL. Så stor skillnad är det på dessa två ligor.

Nu ska vi alla vara tacksamma att inför just denna säsong så har ovanligt få spelare från den svenska ligan valt att lämna för KHL. Bara 12 spelare, varav 5 med svensk nationalitet, har valt att flytta österut. Åt det andra hållet är det värre, där hela 24 spelare, varav hela 19 är svenska, lämnar för Nordamerika.

Visst värvar även Elitserielagen en del från just dessa ligor också, men inte på långa vägar i samma utsträckning. Från KHL kommer det i och för sig hela 10 spelare i höst, men bara 2 är svenskar. Från NHL kommer det 7 spelare varav 6 svenska.

Då graden av återvändande svenska är så fruktansvärt låg, innebär det att de svenska klubbarna får sikta in sig på spelare av annan nationalitet. Det är mycket därför det i år är rena rama invasionen av utlänningar i den svenska Elitserien. 26 spelare av utländsk härkomst är hittills värvade utöver alla de som redan fanns här på kontrakt.

Jag har inget alls emot dess utländska inslag då de är minst lika bra hockeyspelare som några andra, men det som stör mig är att för svensk hockeys del är det ett stort avbräck att alla våra bästa spelare flyr landet hals över huvud så fort de får chansen. Till och med när det är på mycket lösa grunder.

Så vad ska vi göra?

Säg gärna vad ni tycker om det här problemet. Så länge det bara är en liten grupp som får säga sitt så kommer aldrig problemen att lösas. Idéer behövs från alla håll.
