Once upon a time...

"We made hiphop similar to Wu-Tang, to try and draw some parallel to something you might have heard or know, and we were active between 96 and 01, give or take a year or two. We were played on Swedish radio, featured on a bunch of mixtapes, a couple of CD’s, had some articles written about us and did a bunch of live shows (for instance.. Stockholm Music Open in 2000 and a couple of times on Mejeriet with Non Phixion, Spotrunnaz and others). Most of the tunes are of pretty bad quality since I had to pull them off old cassettes and whatnot, but some are quite good non the less. And some of them have stood the test of time rather well as well (in my opinion at least).

We were three producers, me (magOwl), Wolf & Lion and five MC’s, all except me and Taro. We were all using the Ensoniq EPS16+ running Cubase on the Atari. Wolf later on bought the Ensoniq ASR10 and worked with the internal sequencer. I’ll ask Wolf & Lion if it’s alright with them that I put together some form of beat compilation as well, since we made alot of beats, and I know some people would like to hear the Royal sounds again.

We also had dealings with a bunch of other artists, mainly in the US and Canada, sadly nothing really came out of it. Some of the people we had a dialog with were Citizen Kane (Can), Royal Fam (US), Thirstin Howl III & Master Foul (US), Kool G Rap (US) and a bunch of others. Two tracks in the Download section feature a couple of overseas cats, the “Royal feat. COD” track & the “Royal feat. Unknown” (which I think is some Citizen Kane cat.. I have to ask Wolf about that tho). One of the MC’s on the COD track is Wen, which, if you know your graffiti history, should ring a bell or two, as should COD for that matter heh. And of course we have Blue, a lady with a great voice, two tracks with her in the download section. And from France, S.O.D., which have and old tune featuring, and produced by, Wolf on their Myspace page."

I think we were planning to drop something for he longest but we put it on hold cause we had no plan to make any type conceptual shit (although that's a concept as well) and we were really not into doing something half assed and negotiated... So instead we made tons of sketches of tracks that never got released... some great and some kind of lame but all very real and they were all mad fun to make... and on the real we are still around doing the same shit we always did... So that's a fat middle finger to the industry... or something...

In any case I know we still are grinding on some music shit to one or another extent... I know Owl produced a bunch of tracks for Brooklyn Academy's latest album. Me and Lion still working with some cats in Brooklyn (Spud, Fuol, Shiekh), Paris (S.O.D.) and Tokyo(spexsavers). When I'm in Sweden I usually try to hook with Owl to knock out some ill tunes and when I get drunk I usually pester Cougar and Iron to do more tunes... So I think we are shooting for the World tour in 2016... Still I think we just keep going doing our thing like we always did without any guidelines. Can't stop wont stop... and basically fuck any type of bullshit.
