All you need to know about Swedish singer John Lundvik
Did you know that the Swedish hitmaker and singer John Lundvik is a former athlete? Or that he wrote the song "Tell the world your mine" for the Crown Princess of Sweden?
John Lundvik is 36 years old and was born in London. At the age of six he was adopted and moved to Växjö in Sweden. He came to a lovely family and John often talks about the love and support he grew up around.
– My parents mean the world to me. Without them I would not be the person i am today, he has previously said in an intervju with Nyheter24.
After a few years in Sweden, John won a sprint event at his school and a parent of one of the other students (actually, the mother of Olympic Champion Carolina Kluft) told him that he should become a sprinter. And that is exactly what he did.
John was a talented sprinter, and had a great career winning many gold medals. But at the end he was struggling with injuries and hade to quit sports all together.
John has always been a big fan of singing and writing songs, and he was the one who wrote the song "Tell the world you are mine" that was preformed by the Swedish singers Agnes and Björn Skifs at the wedding of Crown Princess of Sweden, Victoria and Prince Daniel.
In 2018, he competed in Melodifestivalen with his song "My Turn", finishing in third place. But the year after – he won, qualifying him to represent Sweden in Eurovision Song Contest.
He will represent Sweden in Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with the song "Too Late for Love" that has already been a huge success in Sweden.
This year, he will also represent the United Kingdom as a songwriter for the song "Bigger Than Us".
John has got a girlfriend and two children, and lives in Stockholm, Sweden.
